Thanks for your interest in our Adult Mental Health Group.
The adult mental health group at TLC Music Therapy is a strengths-based group which aims to provide social connection and support for adults experiencing mental ill health.
The group is a great place to meet new people and connect with others who also enjoy music. We work together to explore music-based methods to meet a range of individual goals such as:
Developing communication skills
Social connection and building friendships
Creative self-expression
Developing music skills
Emotional regulation and managing anxiety
Improving mood
There are many ways to engage and contribute in the group. All participants are invited to participate as much or as little as they like. Activities will vary depending on the needs and interest of the participants but may include:
Singing
Moving/dance
Playing instruments
Writing songs
Composition and music production
Drumming
Music & relaxation
Writing songs
Arts-based methods
Music play (improvisation)
Music listening and playlist creation
The group will meet once a week during the school term on Tuesdays from 3pm-3.45pm at TLC Music Therapy 158 Colby Drive, Belgrave South. The group is inclusive, strengths based and no musical experience is necessary. The group is a program of support under the NDIS and NDIS participants and their support workers are welcome.
Group fees will be $193.99 per session (divided by the participants) as well as 5min documentation and planning time per participant per week. Any reports or service support plans will be charged at $193.99 per hour and divided by participants. Participants can use their NDIS funding to attend the group and group fees are invoiced at the end of the term.
The group aims to have 3-5 members, depending on how many support workers need to fit in the studio.
