The group meets weekly during the school term with breaks over the school holidays. The sessions are held at TLC Music Therapy from
4.30pm – 5.15pm on Tuesdays. TLC Music Therapy is located at 158 Colby Drive in Belgrave South.
The group is facilitated by Hilary Baxter, a registered music therapist who has a passion for working with young people.
The group aims to promote social communication skills, emotional regulation, and kinder/school readiness. We’ll be addressing a whole range of goal areas including:
Cognitive development
Social communication skills
Emotional regulation and resilience
Relationship building and meaningful interactions with peers
Rhythmic and melodic entrainment
We’ll be rehearsing these skills through games, singing, instrument playing, song writing, performing, dancing, composing, and sensory props.
Parents are not required to attend the group with their child, though they are very welcome. There are also 3 great café’s close by 😊
The cost of the groups is our hourly rate of $193.99ph divided between the group participants. There will also be a small fee for documentation & planning. At the start of each term the fee will be set depending on the number of enrolments. Participants will need to commit to the group for a term at a time and fees will be charged at the end of the term. Please note that absences won’t be refunded.
The group will start from Tuesday 31st January though participants are welcome to join at any time.
