Thanks for your interest in our girls 6-8yo ASD group.
If you’d like your child to develop their social communication skills, emotional regulation, and build relationships with peers, then this group is perfect for you.
The group meets weekly during the school term with breaks over the school holidays. The sessions are held at TLC Music Therapy from
4pm – 4.45pm on Mondays. TLC Music Therapy is located at 158 Colby Drive in Belgrave South. The group is facilitated by Hilary Baxter, a registered music therapist who has a passion for working with young people.
The group aims to rehearse social communication skills and build peer relationships in a supported environment. We’ll be addressing a range of goal areas including:
Social communication and engagement with peers
Play skills
Receptive and expressive language
Emotional regulation and resilience
We’ll be rehearsing these skills through games, singing, instrument playing, song writing, performing, dancing, composing, stories, sensory props, and puppets.
Parents are not required to attend the group with their child, though they are very welcome to stay if they wish. There are 3 great café’s close by 😊
The cost of the groups is our hourly rate of $193.99ph divided between the group participants. There will also be a small fee for documentation & planning. At the start of each term the fee will be set depending on the number of enrolments. Participants will need to commit to the group for a term at a time and fees will be charged at the end of the term. Please note that absences won’t be refunded.
The group will start from Monday 30th January though participants are welcome to join at any time.
